Professor Julia Annas honored with book and distinguished research position at University of Oslo

 Oxford University Press has now published Oxford Studies in Ancient Philosophy, Virtue and Happiness: Essays in Honor of Julia Annas (2012), edited by Rachana Kamtekar, UA Associate Professor of Philosophy. This volume of original essays by many of the profession’s most prominent ancient philosophers and moral theorists honors Julia’s accomplishments over the course of her distinguished career.

In acknowledgement of her research program in ancient philosophy, ethics and moral psychology, the University of Oslo's Center for the Study of Mind in Nature has appointed Julia to a distinguished research position for portions of the three year period beginning on Jan. 1, 2013 and concluding December 31, 2015. This research appointment will permit Julia to spend part of the fall semesters in these years in Oslo as a resident scholar.
