On Wednesday, Dec 4-7, the Freedom Center will host a conference on the Morality of Aggression for the Social Philosophy and Policy Conference. We would like to acknowledge that the conference is made possible with a generous grant from the John Templeton Foundation.
This conference will feature papers that cover a range of topics including, but not limited to, competition, cooperation, and aggression; the moral limits of legal coercion; paternalism and perfectionism; and the conditions for the permissibility of self-defense. The participant list includes Cristina Bicchieri, Frances Kamm, Steve Wall, Heidi Hurd, Michael Moore, Claire Finkelstein, Horacio Spector, Eric Mack, Samantha Brennan, Matt Zwolinski, and Jason Brennan. The conference site is the Omni Tucson National Resort in Tucson, Arizona (http://www.tucsonnational.com).
Details about the conference, including the full list of participants, schedule, location and papers are available at the conference website: http://socialphilosophyandpolicy.arizona.edu/2014-morality-aggression-volume-322.
If you plan to attend Friday and/or Saturday, please register at the conference website so we can adequately plan for lunches: http://socialphilosophyandpolicy.arizona.edu/conference-registration. Please register by November 20, 2014.
Once you have registered, you will receive your login information by e-mail to gain access to the papers.
