"TWO ANCIENT PHILOSOPHERS ON WHY DEATH IS NO EVIL" with speaker Rachana Kamtekar
Wednesday, November 4, 2015 - 6:30pm to 7:30pm at the Fox Tucson Theatre 17 W Congress St, Tucson, Arizona 85701
Ancient philosophers Plato and Epicurus disagreed on whether the soul is immortal, yet neither thought death is to be feared. Instead, both argued that death gives us a reson to live a meaningful life. Rachana Kamtekar, associate professor in the Department of Philosophy, explores these views and their relevance today.
Free tickets at the Fox Tucson Theatre ticket booth (in front of the theater) starting at 4:00pm on the day of each lecture. For more information visit http://downtownlectures.arizona.edu/
