Mario was born in Mexico City and came to Arizona to study political philosophy. He received a BA in Philosophy from the UNAM (Mexico City) and an MA in social science with a specialty in political studies from the EHESS (Paris). He has worked at UNESCO headquarters and was an adjunct professor of philosophy, political science, and history of ideas at two of the most prestigious universities in Mexico: Universidad Iberoamericana and ITAM. His areas of interest are ethics and political and social philosophy. He works on the phenomenon of political corruption from moral and institutional perspectives.
