Internships

Earn academic credit while gaining real-world experience through an internship.

Internship Benefits

We encourage both graduate and undergraduate students to complete a three-unit internship during your studies. An internship will help get you out into the community, build your resume, and develop your research interests.

In the past, Philosophy students have worked with local and state legislatures, interned under local and state justice systems, and many others worked or volunteered for non-profit organizations.

Applying for Internship Credit

We do not offer departmental internship credit. However, the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences can offer academic credit through SBS 393. Eligibility includes:

  • Good academic standing with a minimum of 2.00 GPA (both major and accumulative) at the University
  • Earned a minimum of 30 credits
  • Completed at least one full-time (12-units) semester at the University
  • Currently enrolled at the University

Before applying, you should first speak with your advisor as well as having secured an internship. See the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences internship page for more details.
