A 2018 study by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences compares various measures of career satisfaction across disciplines and found that humanities majors are employable and satisfied. They found that there was a negligible difference between people who majored in humanities and those that majored in fields commonly associated with professional success when it came to non-monetary measurements of success. In addition, the study shows that a majority of humanities majors are in supervisory roles.
