Title: How are Reasons for Belief (Un)like Moral Reasons?
Abstract: I explore some of the theoretically interesting similarities and dissimilarities between reasons for belief and moral reasons, including the ways they relate to preferences, value, ‘oughts,’ and reasons for trying. I then apply some of the lessons that emerge to questions about “the ethics of belief” and the nature of epistemic norms.
As usual, we'll meet in the Maloney Seminar Room. Those unable to attend in person can spectate virtually via this Zoom link.
