George is attracted to the overlap of three disciplines: intellectual history, especially concerning social and political thought—along with its subtly distinct sister, the "history of ideas"—the philosophy of history and the history of philosophy.

While most focused on Late Medieval and Early Modern Europe (particularly the Protestant Reformation and its intellectual forerunners in Britain, Switzerland and Finland under Swedish rule), some of his reading and coursework either reach back to antiquity or fall outside the Western corpus.

During the 2025-26 academic year, George will begin reading in the philosophy of law and the history of legal thought.

He loves his wife and dog and living in Arizona.
